An accurate diagnosis starts with a thorough physical examination of your pet’s ears, eyes, skin, heart, lungs, and more. Your veterinarian can recognize the warning signs of disease and determine the best next steps. Sometimes this calls for blood work or other laboratory tests. Our on-site lab enables us to perform these tests and get results immediately, so that we can get started on the proper treatment plan as soon as possible.
Our hospital is equipped with digital radiology technology to capture crystal clear x-ray images. Digital radiology produces high quality images that can be manipulated to get a closer look at your pet’s internal systems, helping us reach the most accurate diagnosis in the least amount of time. It also uses less radiation than traditional radiology, making it safer for your pet.
Radiology provides an image of your pet’s skeletal systems and a basic outline of the internal organs, but ultrasound provides an even more detailed picture. Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure that uses soundwaves to create an image of your pet’s internal organs. It is most commonly used to asses the health of the heart, bladder, kidneys, and liver, detect cysts and tumors, and monitor pregnancies. Our veterinarians use a combination of radiology and ultrasound to diagnose illness and injury with extreme accuracy.
